Updates to Modern Mono-Green Ramp
//21
16 Forest
4 Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
1 Eye of Ugin
//18
4 Utopia Sprawl
4 Genesis Wave
2 Harmonize
4 Fertile Ground
4 Garruk Wildspeaker
//21
1 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn
4 Burning-Tree Emissary
4 Arbor Elf
4 Primeval Titan
4 Eternal Witness
4 Elvish Visionary
Sideboard
3 Beast Within
1 Spellskite
4 Damping Matrix
3 Primal Command
3 Vexing Shusher
1 Harmonize
The sideboard still stinks, but I think that might be unavoidable.
I want to make room for 2 Creeping Corrosion (probably cutting a Primal Command and a Vexing Shusher).
Harmonize overperformed, but I think 2 main and 1 boarded is the most you'd ever want to go to.
Additionally, I think the Hetrick route of playing Noble Hierarch over Fertile Ground may very well be correct simply because it's so important to have turn 1 accelerants for postboard games (Damping Matrix and Beast Within).
I played the above list in a local modern event recently:
matchups:
r1: lost 1-2 to melira
r2: won 2-0 versus mono-u merfolk
r3: won 2-0 versus g/w hatebears
r4: won 2-0 versus affinity (this is actually one of the harder matchups)
r5: draw
r1 of t8, lost 0-2 to affinity rematch
Kurt Spiess came up with a lot of the good ideas, (including Primal Command and Harmonize). Matt Lackey came up with the original list. props to both of them.
